I have a Raspberry Shake & Boom since last year. It worked well for a while until the graphic signal on the application was fluctuating between showing data and no longer showing anything. My professor disconnected it and no longer touched it for a while, only to now end up not even being able to connect it to the server anymore. Now it’s also stuck in “BOOTING” mode, and after checking what the problem was, it seemed that the raspberryshake.service isn’t responding. On status it shows that it failed to start raspberryshake boot script, and when I wanted to sudo systemctl restart raspberryshake.service it would show the error Job for raspberryshake.service failed because the control process exited with error code
When it comes to the lights, the blue one is constantly on, the green one flickers, while the red one is on only when it starts, then it dies out.
Bellow I added the Log files as instructed after another restart. RSH.R5DDE.2024-10-11T10_32_12.logs.tar (4.3 MB)
It might be a problem with the NTP? But I really don’t know since this is my first time I deal with a Raspberry shake. Thank you very much!
(If there have been any other similar problems that have been resolved, please let me know. I searched but maybe I didn’t get the right title, since none of what I’ve seen seemed to be exactly as my problem. Thank you again.)
thanks for the log files, they are indeed informative. in the log file odf_SL_plugin.err you will see that the data being read off the serial port (connecting the Shake board to the Raspberry Pi) is corrupted.
please see this post detailing the next steps to get your Shake back to proper working order:
Thank you so much!
I will check it once I get access to the rasp shake (it’s at university and don’t have access in weekends). I will let you know how things will work out!
I come here with an update:
I actually have 2 raspberryshakers and both are not working. One of them wasn’t working because the SD card was busted. I don’t have another card to exchange it with so I used the card from the first Raspberryshake I made this report about. I burned the card then followed the guide from here: raspishake-microSD-card-software-Instructions.txt · main · raspberryShake-public / Raspshake Sd Img · GitLab
After doing so, I ended up having the same problem with the red light as from the first (it was blinking and mostly off, rarely staying on), changing to the other rasp-shake, it did the same, unstable red-light. Of course, because of that it was still not connecting. In the end, I concluded that, it might be a problem from the voltage (I have a monitor always connected to the Raspshake to monitor whenever the pi computer finished updating after adding the freshly-updated SD Card. And thanks to that, I was able to see a message that appeared at times, stating a report of an “under-voltage” message).
Once I get the chance to add something that would be able to regulate the voltage, I will try again and I will let you know of any other news.
Until then, thank you very much for your assistance once more.
Thank you for the detailed update and the further troubleshooting you’ve made. Indeed, if the red LED blinks every now and then (and you also have undervoltage messages), the power supply needs to be changed as it is not delivering enough voltage.
Let us know how that goes. For everything else, we remain available as usual.
