Hello Caterina, and welcome to our community!

Our team is still investigating https://fdsnws.raspberryshakedata.com/ and its associated issues, which many users have reported. Therefore, this address remains unavailable for now. We apologize for any inconvenience.

In the overall server-side work we have been doing, we recommend switching to the following FDSNWS address: client = Client(base_url='https://data.raspberryshake.org'), which will provide the same service as the previous address.

Also, if the data you are trying to retrieve is from 2022, this year is not yet available in our new data server, as we are still working on synchronizing legacy data files. As the current limit is February 8th, 2024 (Live Data Issues - #54), your query will likely return empty for now.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hello Stormchaser!
This is about legacy data. Ultimately when the system is fully operational, how far back will data be available from all sites?
Best regards, Safrick

Hello safrick!

When the system restoration is complete, all stations’ legacy data will be accessible until the first day that station comes online. So, for example, if a station came online in 2018 and was never disconnected, you would have data from the present day back six years now.

As of today, legacy data is accessible back to January 1st, 2022 (as you can read in the last messages of the updates topic: Live Data Issues). This data is accessible from legacy data platforms such as DataView, FDSNWS, and others.

To remain always updated on our progress, the link above is the place to go for all the latest.
