Hi Hector,

Can you show me the command you used to install it?
Note that pip install rsudp will not work because some obspy dependencies do not build correctly. Instead please use the installer script:

bash unix-install-rsudp.sh

Ian

Hi Ian,

Thats the bash script I used, I basically did:

git clone https://github.com/raspishake/rsudp
cd rsudp/
bash unix-install-rsudp.sh

the following questions i answered:
Enter keep default directory -
The script will now append - ** I think this is where I made a mistake I should of said β€œyes”

bellow is the full output:

thanks

That’s interesting…it looks like it’s choking on an obspy dependency that should be getting installed. I will look into this and get back to you.

Try this:

. $HOME/berryconda3/etc/profile.d/conda.sh
conda activate rsudp
conda install cffi
bash unix-install-rsudp.sh

This is what I got

pi@earthquakepi:~/Downloads/rsudp $
pi@earthquakepi:~/Downloads/rsudp $ . $HOME/berryconda3/etc/profile.d/conda.sh
pi@earthquakepi:~/Downloads/rsudp $ conda activate rsudp

Try this:

pip install rsudp

Sorry, I’m trying to do too many things at once right now. The error you’re getting is strange, I don’t understand why pip wouldn’t be able to find matplotlib 3.1.1, which definitely exists in the PyPi archives. However, it doesn’t look like you’re in the correct environment when you’re running these commands, which may have something to do with it. Try re-activating the environment first.

. $HOME/berryconda3/etc/profile.d/conda.sh
conda activate rsudp
pip install rsudp
rs-client -d default

No worries no apology is needed and I do appreciate the help. There was progress
Yes that did the trick I was not in the correct environment.

(rsudp) pi@earthquakepi:~/Downloads/rsudp $ rs-client -d default
By default output_dir is set to /home/pi/rsudp
Creating a default settings file at /home/pi/.config/rsudp/rsudp_settings.json
(rsudp) pi@earthquakepi:~/Downloads/rsudp $

Good news! You should now be able to edit your settings file (/home/pi/.config/rsudp/rsudp_settings.json) and run the program using the rs-client command.

Great, thank you so much for the help

For those facing this error in the future, the abridged solution is this:

. $HOME/berryconda3/etc/profile.d/conda.sh
conda activate rsudp
conda install cffi
pip install rsudp
rsudp -d default

I will modify the installer script accordingly. Thanks Hector for bringing this issue to my attention.

Lovely! A nice, quiet station

@hcintron it looks like you may be dropping packets occasionally, is this Shake by chance on WiFi?

I was plesently surprised how quiet the station is in my house. Originally I was going to bring it to a cellsite where I work that I have wethercam and a weather station but I think I’ll keep it in my house for now

I’m around 200km from the earthquakes in Puerto Rico and i can pickup usually around above M3+

as far as the packet drops the RaspberryShake is connected via cable. Are those drops what you see on the servers? It could be my Internet Connection. I know 2 weeks ago it was flapping between my primary and secondary links. Stats like that could be something cool to have under β€œMy Shake” area.

I’m not sure, but they likely indicate some network slowness somewhere between you and the Shake.

We are planning on having something like this on ShakeNet at some point in the near future. Stay tuned.
