iOS/Windows Platform issues using http://rs.local/

Stormchaser,
FYI it looks like there is another possibly related iOS connection problem to send to your team. In addition to ShakeNet not displaying data tracks using iOS per my previous post, rs.local doesn’t work either now.

My Shake (RDE28) is connected and recording properly. I can see my data in DataView using my iPad (iOS) or using my Windows laptop.

I was trying to access my shakes configuration page using http://rs.local/ and could not connect using iPad Air 5th Generation running iOS v16.3.1

ALL FIVE browser versions failed to connect
Failed Safari current version
Failed Firefox v110.1
Failed Chrome v110.5481.114
Failed MS Edge v110.1587.54
Failed DuckDuckGo v7.72.1

Had most success using HP laptop running Windows
Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 21H2
OS build 19044.2604
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0

Works! Firefox v110.0 (64-bit)
Works! Chrome v110.0.5481.178 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Works! MS Edge v110.0.1587.57 (Official build) (64-bit)

Some iOS problems remain unresolved and may be related.
Best regards,
Mike

Hello mrlentini,

Firstly, I want to thank you for the extensive additional testing and feedback that you have done with rs.local/ and its behavior on Mac.

I will pass everything on to our team, and I’m sure this will definitely be of help for them.

To address your current issue, I would say that the fastest way to access the Shake OS interface in your situation would be writing down the IP address of the Shake that the admin panel of your modem/router or that the Fing app (more info here: Please read before posting!) is providing you, and using that in your browser instead of rs.local/. In these conditions, the IP address becomes a valid alternative.

That should give you access to the Shake panel, and you should be able to proceed from there.
