What is the exact accelerometer model used in the Raspberry Shake RS4D?

Hi,
I’m interested in understanding the technical details of the Raspberry Shake RS4D. Could you please let me know the exact model of the accelerometer used in this device? I would like to assess its specifications for a project involving vibration monitoring. Any additional information about its range, sensitivity, and frequency response would also be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hello fverri, and welcome to the community!

You’ll be able to find more technical details about all our Shake models (and sensors) in this manual page: Technical Specifications.

In particular, the first link will open/download a complete Technical Specifications document. You can then find the RS4D on page 19, and the MEMs accelerometers specs on page 26.

If you require anything else, we remain available.

But in that documentation, they do not specify the exact model of the accelerometer they use. They only provide its technical specifications.

Hello fverri,

The name is not included in the document as the precise model of our MEMs accelerometers is proprietary information, thus not available to the public.

If you need to reference it for a study, you can cite it using our DOI (for data) DOI:10.7914/SN/AM or a more general raspberryshake.org for everything else.

If you have other questions, feel free to ask.
