RS&B Down After Typhoon

Dear All,

Tried to bring my RS&B back up after a brownout and typhoon over the last few weeks. my kit was completely assembled.

I checked the logs and found

2025 001 14:36:09: Software Version : v0.20

2025 001 14:36:57: Unable to read Firmware version number off of Serial Port /dev/serial0 after trying for 15 seconds, cannot continue!

2025 001 14:36:57: Is the Pi computer connected to the Raspberry Shake Board? Please confirm and try again.

does this signal a hardware failure?

hi Jamest1965,

thanks for the logs. the odf_SL_plugin.err file indicates that the data being read off the Shake board by the Pi is corrupted. your first check should be to confirm your power source was not damaged during the moments of uneven power, and also to confirm that all connections are firmly in place. the next thing to confirm is that the cable connection between the Shake’s board and the Pi are also firmly seated (all done in a way so as to guarantee no static electricity discharge).

if the problem persists, please provide the log files anew and we will have another look.

hope this helps,
richard
