Raspberry Shake on Starlink

Hello, I am trying to switch from a local ISP to Starlink. Currently I have both networking operational, but want to drop the local ISP. I had Raspberry shake plugged into a PoE box, which was plugged into my local ISP router and that worked fine. Now I have plugged the Raspberry shake/PoE box into my Starlink router and I can’t get Raspberry Shake to connect to the internet (online or via the iPhone app). It just says ‘no data available’ or ‘connection timeout.’ How can I get Starlink to recognize my Raspberry box? Thanks, Gary Paukert, Foothills, Alberta

Hello Paukert, and welcome back to the community!

We had other users testing and successfully connecting their Raspberry Shakes via Starlink. If the default configuration of the router is not working, maybe this can help:

Could you also download the logs from the Shake (using the dedicated button in the main rs.local/ page) and send them to me? They could provide more information about your situation.

Thank you.

Thank you. I’m embarrassed to say that the problem was simply a loose power cable. After a long time trying to connect my Raspberry, I finally realized my network was down. The Starlink router had no light shining, so after much ado I finally ordered a new router. When I got the new one, I suddenly noticed that the power cord to the router was a bit loose. So maybe I had a bad router, or maybe it was just a little loose. At the end of the day I installed the new router, connected the PoE box, connected the Raspberry and everything immediately worked. I describe my foolishness here in case anyone else gets cause in the same confirmation bias loop. “It MUST be Raspberry and Starlink not connecting!” Nope. Thanks for the help.

No trouble at all Paukert.

The essential thing is that your Shake is up and running!
