I live in a masonry home, in a region with light seismic activity (3-4, 100 km away, but sometimes higher). I would prefer to mount the RS3D directly to a masonry wall, in which case it would be 90 degrees from level. Is it easy to reassign the axes, or must I prepare a stiff, 130 mm wide angle bracket? I suppose that I could floor mount it if necessary, but eye-level on a wall seemed cooler. Thanks.
Hello Coconuts, and welcome to the community!
The Shake is calibrated, to my knowledge, for a floor mount installation, which will give you the maximum performance.
You could use a solid-coupling wall mount (some of our users have Shakes on shelves, or wooden windowsills) and then put the Shake eye-level, but still in the intended orientation.
Then you could even do some tests and see what differences (if there are any) are between the Shake on the floor and on the wall mount. It could be an interesting comparison!
Remember also to properly orient it towards the North, using the small arrow on the blue Shake board.
OK. When I review the RS3D specs, they differ depending on whether it is a V5+ or a V3. Which did I just order (SKU: PR-RS-RS3D-TK LF)?
All units that we are shipping now are V5+ for the RS3D, so you’ll receive one of those.
There will be a text label on the Shake itself confirming the version that has been delivered.
