Let’s tackle your queries point by point:

Our FDSN Web Service serves data T-30 minutes and older. You can find more information on how our FDSNWS is set up here and here.

All the data your Shake records is available directly from the Shake itself. For example, using software like SWARM, you would be able to see what your Shake is detecting in real time without needing anything else.
2.1) You can directly download all recorded data from the Shake as shown here.
2.2) The two points above require the Shake and the computer you’re using to connect to it to be on the same network, be it a local or a VPN one.
2.3) If only viewing is required in some situations, instead, you can use our StationView and DataView portals. -
For local network access, you don’t require a special server. You can connect directly to your Shake via:
- SeedLink (works with Earthworm, ObsPy, SeisComP, and more)
- OSOP Wave Server (OWS) for SWARM
- UDP Broadcast for RSUDP and ObsPy
For cloud-based streaming, instead, you will need at least a CAPS or SeedLink protocol set up to receive data. More info can be found here.

No trouble! The Shake’s default configuration saves 7 days of continuous data to the microSD card. Naturally, this value can be modified by the user (note: it’s always best to avoid filling up the disk completely).

It is also possible to extend the Shake storage capacity even more by using an external USB stick, as shown here.
All data (both on the Shake and on our servers) is stored and retrieved as MSEED files, ready to be used by most seismological analysis software.

Our Shakes come with an 8GB pre-installed microSD card. We recommend using either Commercial Grade (MLC) or Industrial Grade (SLC) microSD cards for their greater reliability and longevity. You are free to use larger-capacity cards (16GB, 32GB, etc.).

My answer in Point 4 can help, but to provide you with a quick list:
- RS1D : ~15 MB/day/channel → ~200 days of storage
- RS3D : ~45 MB/day → ~70 days of storage
- RS4D : ~60 MB/day → ~50 days of storage
- RS&BOOM : ~30 MB/day → ~100 days of storage
All data will remain on the Shake until the period set as described in Point 4 ends. So, if you’ve set 7 days, old data will start to be deleted after that time has passed. If you set 30 days, it will be deleted after a month, and so on.
