I’m having a similar problem. My Shake had been running OK except for no apparent reason it would drop the Services interface while maintaining an internet and server connections (first and third of the three statuses on the web page were green, middle one was white). So I flashed a new micro-SD card with the latest version and now I get a blank web page as described. I can’t ssh in - putty reports no connection. Internal IP is 192.168.0.34; neither that nor rs.local lets me in, and both give a blank web page (Edge and Firefox). My router shows it as online. I swapped back the old card and all is fine. System version of the old card is 0.21.1. The d/led new version zip file as saved to my computer is dated 3/15/26.
Hello Jon_B, and welcome to our community!
I moved your message here so we can focus on what you have listed.
Let’s recap a bit to make sure I understood everything:
- The older Shake OS version worked fine except for the Services interface dropping every now and then
- After the new microSD card flashing, there is only a blank
rs.local/page and no connection to the Shake - After using the previous microSD card, the connection was restored
If that is correct, some questions on my side to help you in a better way:
- Has the Services status dropped again after you re-inserted the old microSD card, or is it now working without issues?
- Just to clarify, when you burned the new microSD card, the Shake OS version you initially installed was v0.20. Have you tried to open
rs.local/soon after turning on the Shake with the new microSD, or have you waited some time (more than 15-20 minutes) before doing so? - When you inserted the new microSD card, did the green LED on the Pi board (next to the red power LED) become static for a time, occasionally flashing? Or was its behavior different?
- Lastly, could I ask you, with the current (old) microSD card, to download the logs from the Shake and send them to me?
Thank you very much for your collaboration.
- I’ve seen the connections (Internet and Services so far) go down for varying time intervals.
- I waited some time (up to an hour) before trying to open rs.local.
- I didn’t watch it - the Shake location is not in a convenient position to physically observe.
- Although it’s showing Internet, Services and Server connections active, I’m unable to d/l the files. Connection repeatedly times out. Where is the tar located, so I can copy it to removable media?
Thank you. The picture that appears is that we are possibly dealing with some kind of system instability.
The logs will help us determine the causes of what you’re seeing. There is no direct-to-download tar file, but if you could download all the files that are in the /opt/log directory and then zip/tar them, that would be perfect.
