New SD Card Server Connection : Not Connected

I am setting up a new Raspberry Shake and an unable to connect to the server. I can SSH into the device and ping externally both via IP address and hostname. I have attched the logs to see if anyone can point me in the right direction to get this connected.

Thanks!

Hello nathanspillman, welcome to our community!

Thank you for posting the logs of your Shake. From them, nothing appears out of place during the booting process, so we can be sure that the unit is operating as it should.

This is, however, out of place:

Station Info
------------

Data-Sharing Mode : OFF
 Data Server Conn : OFF

Could you please reboot the Shake again and then try the following procedure to see if it solves the connectivity issue?

Please access your rs.local/ page, go to Settings (the gear icon high on the left), and then the Data tab. Make sure that the Forward Data box is checked, and then click Save and Restart.

The station should now be able to connect again.

If it does, then this error is caused by a known bug that we are examining and that will (hopefully) be solved in the next Shake OS v0.20 release.

Thank you.

Hello Pumaman, welcome back to the community!

Thank you for posting the logs of your Shake. It seems that the Shake is not able to find a DNS server to connect to the internet:

2022 029 12:15:03: Unable to resolve hostname 'raspberryshake.net', most likely no DNS server available
2022 029 12:15:03: No internet connection found

Has something recently changed in your local modem/router internet configuration?

In any case, could you please shut down the Shake and then your modem/router? Check if the LAN cable connecting the two is in good status, and if you have another CAT6 cable or superior version around, feel free to try that one too.

Now restart your modem/router, and wait until it finds a stable internet connection. Once this has been achieved, only then turn on your Shake again, and wait for it to find a network. If the status remains still “Not Connected” around 30 minutes after turning it on, then please download the logs again and send them to me, so that I can see if there is something else that we can try.

Thank you.

Hello Graham,

Sometimes yes, a good re-burn and reset are all that is needed to get back online. Usually, I advise doing this as a last resort, but it can solve a lot of issues right from the start.

Thank you for posting the new logs. Nothing seems to be out of place, and your Shake is now live streaming data on our services. Here’s StationView: RS StationView

It can take up to 24h for a unit to re-appear again, this seems to have been the case, but the problem should be fixed right now.

Hi

Thanks for the reply

Yes it all appears to be working normally now thanks
