More gaps in Data Stream

Hi

I have been having trouble with my Shake and gaps in data in DataView as shown in the attached screenshot . My shake is attached to a WIFI Extender via ethernet

I have tried reloading the software onto the SD Card but its still the same

I have attached the log files as well

I hope someone can tell me what is going wrong and how to fix it

Many Thanks

Hello Graham, and welcome back to the community!

Thank you for posting the screenshot and the logs from your Shake. From them, it doesn’t appear there are issues with the instrument itself: it boots up correctly, finds an internet connection, and then starts transmitting data.

However, there are indeed data transmission errors, as highlighted here:

2024 229 12:06:15>>	DDSsendDP(): message send failed after 61 retries, closing connection.
2024 229 12:06:15>>	DDSsend(): Send error: 0
2024 229 12:06:15>>	sendDClientDP(): Error sending data ...

I would recommend checking first if the current power supply you are using continues to deliver a stable voltage between 5.0 and 5.2V and a current of at least 2.5A at all times, as a decrease in power could lead to data services interruption. If the data interruptions continue, and if you have another Pi power supply you know is in working condition, please try to exchange the current one with that and see if the Shake now correctly works for more extended periods.

As a second check (you have probably already done this), have you tried rebooting/resetting your WiFi extender to see if that fixes the data gaps issue?

Another test you can do is to directly connect the Shake (temporarily) via Ethernet cable to your router (you can relocate it briefly just for this test) and see if, in this way, the gaps disappear or if they remain there.

If they do, we’ll have to investigate the Shake more; otherwise, the issue may be with the extender you have been using.

Hi

Thanks for the reply

Yes I have rebooted the WiFi extender a few times

I will try changing the power supply and see what happens
