Missing Waveform Data in StationView for Recent Earthquake

Hi Raspberry Shake Team,

A Magnitude 4.5 earthquake recently occurred near my station (117 km away).

When I checked StationView, the waveform data for the moment of the earthquake appears to be missing. However, the data seems to be present in the Helicorder and in the RSUDP output. This leads me to believe the issue might be specific to StationView and EventView.

Could you please help me determine if this is an issue with the data upload from my station, or if it’s a problem with the post-upload processing on your end?

Here’s the StationView link:

Thanks for your help!

Hello tisayama, and welcome to our community! It’s great to have another user from Japan!

Thank you for all the details you’ve provided and the log files from your Shake.

I can confirm that:

  • Your Shake is in perfect working conditions, no issues; and
  • Our servers were also working with no issues at the time.

What likely happened was that your Shake lost connection for that brief period of time right around the earthquake (this is supported by data in the log files) due to some external factor (probably due to earthquake itself(?)).

In fact, the instrument reconnected without problems just after, and it continues to transmit live data as of now.

So, to summarize, there was a temporary issue with data upload from your Shake that lasted some minutes. This, however, was independent of both your Shake and our server system, so you’ll need to use the local data on the Shake if you require some kind of event analysis on that specific earthquake.
