I was normally using 127.0.0.1 and port 8888 to get back the data from the system. I reinstalled the OS and with the new version the port 8888 appears in use and even specifying another port nothing is pushed out of the socket. Is there any way to get the data out ?

yes, port 8888 was taken by the Shake-OS to support new functionality in the latest release. however, since it is possible to configure as many additional ports as you would like for this purpose, you simply need to define an additional port number for data export, and then modify your data-reader program to connect to this new port. this is easily done using the front-end config app; the new setting takes effect immediately with no need to restart the data services.
