Lifespan of a RS1D: Does it need a calibration after years of running?

Hi RS team!

Third year using your amazing product. Since my shake is reaching its third year in operation, I’m intrigued to know if I need some “internal” spare parts to keep my boy running (geophones, cables, Raspberry pi). Also i was thinking if a RS1D needs calibration after some time of use. Is there some degradation process of the components that force us to change the instrumental response parameters to continue reading true velocity values?

Thanks for your help.

Best regards.

One of my RS1Ds - R00B9 - has been operating OK since Feb 2017. I’ve had to replace the micro-SD card a couple of times, but that’s all.

Thank you for your message @korrozivelab It is not necessary to recalibrate the Raspberry Shakes at any time in their lifetime. The coils, etc. will no degrade over relevant timescales.

Thank you for 3 years of support!
