Hi, I’m having some troubles with the official RS GPS antenna .
My goal is to use the RS in the field without internet connection. So, I’ve activated the standalone mode and followed the instructions to install the GPS antenna (Raspberry Shake powered down, the antenna plugged in, and the unit booted with an Internet connection, in that order).
When I reboot the RS everything is ok, that is the ntpq -p command shows *SHM(1).
Now, if I unplug the power RS for a few minutes and restart the RS without the internet connection, the GPS time is not updated.
-
ntpq -p gives:
remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter
=================================================================
SHM(0) .GPS. 0 l - 16 0 0.000 0.000 0.000
SHM(1) .PPS. 0 l - 16 0 0.000 0.000 0.000 -
and this is log/gpsd-mgr.log:

Stopping gpsd service

Restarting gpsd service
The only way to restart the GPS is to reboot with the ethernet cable connected.
If the RS is booted with the internet connection, the GPS starts working again.
