Guys it has been many months now since you said you were working on the Log In dosplay page that give me the graphs traces of my site. You did saay you were aware of the problem many months ago. So I gave you several months and asked the question again, with the same answer " you were aware and were working on it" Now again I plead with you, please make the log on page work and show my data and traces. It is a fast way of me looking at my info and then be able to capture it for screen shots etc for repots and sending on to friends etc. Having all 3 traces on the one display is the best. PLEASE tell me you are fixing this, and give me an indication of when it will be working. Garry McCarthy New Zealand
Hello GarryMac,
Thank you for your patience and for following up on this matter. I apologize for the delay in providing a clear update and for any frustration this has caused.
I asked our team about the situation with the ShakeNet Web portal and what was going “behind the scenes” to get some clarification. As things stand, after careful consideration, Raspberry Shake has recently made the difficult decision to sunset the ShakeNet Web portal in the near future, after many years of service. This means we will no longer be able to support or maintain its features. We will make a formal announcement to the community with all the details soon.
I understand how disappointing and disruptive this news can be, especially given your reliance on that particular data display.
In light of this change (I think you explored this), we recommend switching over to our DataView platform (https://dataview.raspberryshake.org/), particularly the MultiStream feature. While it may not be exactly the same and may need some time to adapt to the new data visualization, it offers similar channel display capabilities, along with enhanced features such as filtering live incoming traces and a double waveform/spectrogram live display for each channel.
We are committed to ensuring that you can continue to access, use, and share your data effectively. If you encounter any issues with the DataView platform or have any specific aspects of the ShakeNet Web Portal that you found particularly useful, please share them with us. While I cannot guarantee that each suggestion will become a reality, we are always looking for ways to improve our tools based on user feedback.
Thank you again for your understanding.
Thank you for your reply. As I am a Amateur watcher / user and am not deep into the various detailed displays, I found the front end display with my RSD3 displaying my traces the best. It is extremely frustrating and disappointing that you have chosen not to support it, I would really ask you to reconsider your decision to shut it down. A lot of us only need that front end and simple quick connection to view our data. After all we buy our sensors from you, then pay to have our collected data connected to the internet and send it to you free of charge for your detailed use and mass data collection, all we ask in return is to view it in a format that is good for us ! I note your comment " Thank you again for your understanding" well I am not really understanding and as the system useto work fine what has happened to make it so difficult to continue the said displays of out traces? Garry
Hello GarryMac,
Thank you for your further feedback and for describing your concerns. We understand how important the ShakeNet Web Portal has been to you and many other users for its simplicity and ease of use.
The decision to sunset the ShakeNet Web Portal was not made lightly. As we strive to improve our offerings, we are focusing on platforms that can provide more robust and flexible features, such as DataView.
I understand your frustration, especially considering your investment in our sensors and your contribution to our data collection efforts. We have noted your point about the need for a simple front-end display. While we are committed to improving DataView to make it as user-friendly and effective as possible, we recognize that this transition may be difficult.
We value all feedback and are always looking for ways to improve our services based on user needs. I will share your concerns with our team to see if there is something we can do to make this transition smoother and address the specific needs you’ve mentioned.
In the meantime, please let us know if you encounter any difficulties with DataView or need assistance in getting it set up to match your previous experience as closely as possible.
And, as usual, for anything else, I remain available.
Ok thank you for your reply
