Email change + version update

I know I am a little late on this but my cable co. has made some changes. I had to change my email address and use their website to get my email which was on a webmail address.
The cable co is Spectrum.
My question is My RB537(RS4D) is still on V 20 and my R05D2 (RS1D) says
0.21.2.
Do I just need to write the newest OS on my RB537,I am guessing yes but want to be sure.
As stated above I have a new email address. Can you direct me where to change it? In my device itself?
I know I can’t change my very 1st login email but can change the one where I get notices from shakenet?
Thank You for your time.

Hello JB, welcome back to the community!

I moved your post to a new thread so we can discuss with more focus.

Let’s start from the 4D version. Do you have access to this Shake, and if yes, could you download the logs via the orange button at the bottom of rs.local/ page? The log files will help in determining why the Shake is not updating.

If you still have access to your old email, you can log in to ShakeNet from here, click the Login button in the top right, access your account, and then update it with your new email from there.

If, instead, you don’t have access to your old email, you’ll have to register a new account. To do so, you can click on the same link shared in the paragraph above, click the Login button in the top right, and then click on the Register text in the page that appears there.

This is on your account side. On the Raspberry Shakes themselves, the only thing you need to do is update the email in Settings - General, and you will be set.

If you have other questions about this, just let me know.

Hers is the log from my RB537-RS4D

Hello again reelfoot,

Thank you for the logs from the 4D. From what my colleague was able to see, it appears that some of the files in the installation were corrupted, which is why (while the Shake is still working fine) it can’t update to v0.21.2.

The quickest way for you to do so, thus, is directly re-burn the microSD with the latest Shake OS version. All you need to do so can be found here.

Let us know how it goes!

Thank you for the reply and help.
