For Richard, I’ve bugged the tech help a couple of times on this subject, and it has become more urgent for me, and I’d like to help out. Is there a way to get some technical specs for how the data gets sent? I’ve grabbed outgoing data with tcpdump, and see lots of opportunity to reduce what’s being sent, but need some details on what’s needed and what the restrictions are. I’ve been doing systematic efficiency projects for my day job for more years than I’d like to admit, so this is familiar territory.

As Ian mentioned in the other thread, moving to binary data transmission is in the pipeline. This is not our number one priority but it most likely will be released before the end of the year. So hang in there!
