Data View Spectrogram scaling needed!

Given that ALL the Raspberry Shakes have a bandwidth of 0.1 to 29 Hz, why is the Data View spectrogram scale from 0 to 50 Hz?

Having a selectable scale for the Spectrogram would make it far more useful.

Would you implement that feature?

Hello geewizard,

First, let me clarify the bandwidth point. Not all Shake versions have the same bandwidth, and you can review all details (including the progress made while improving our models) in our general Technical Specifications Document.

The frequency range displayed on DataView (0-50 Hz for the current Shakes, 0-25 Hz for the earlier models) relates to the Nyquist frequency. Since Raspberry Shake devices sample at 100 samples per second (100 Hz), according to the Nyquist theorem, the maximum frequency that can be accurately represented is half of the sampling rate, which is 50 Hz (or 25 Hz in case of the earlier models, as they sample at 50 samples per second).

However, having the overall possibility of deciding which frequency range one wants to highlight looks like great feedback! I have passed it on to our team to explore what can be done to potentially integrate this feature in the future.

Thank you!
