Data from Data View is not available

Hello good evening. Data from Data View beyond a week is not available. It says No Data.

Hello mcesaire,

Do you still see the No Data message as of today? I checked random stations on DataView this morning, and everything appears fine.

Was it a particular station that displayed that message, or all the ones you tried?

My apology for the long reply. Yes it displayed properly.

However, I was wondering if you can look at the attached log. One Monday 11/18/24 our school turned off the internet in order to change the WiFi equipment or router. Since then my shake has gaps in the data. I have rebooted and unconnected/reconnected the to the ethernet port and unplugged and replugged the power.

I was wondering if there is an issue with the shake.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Hello mcesaire,

No trouble at all; we are available for techincal queries as usual.

I can see those gaps, yes, and usually they can be related to two main causes:

  1. lack of/intermittent power supply

  2. lack if/intermittent internet service

Now, from the logs I can see that you have a bit of these errors:

2024 332 17:28:27>>	sendDClientDP(): Error sending data ...
2024 332 17:29:47>>	DDSsendDP(): send error EPIPE (Broken pipe), closing socket

which may relate to an internet-related issue. My first thought would be to check and see if the current power supply you are using is continuing to deliver a stable voltage between 5.0 and 5.2V and a current of at least 2.5A at all times, as a decrease in power could lead to data services interruption. If the data interruptions continue to happen, and if you have another Pi power supply that you know is in working condition, please try to exchange the current one with that, and see if the Shake now properly works for longer periods.

A second check that you can do is then ask your IT/network expert to check if there is something that blocks data communication between the Shake and our server, or the time synchronization server. The ports listed in this page (Firewall issues?) should remain open at all times and always allow data through them.

I hope the above can help.

Good morning. Thank you very much. I’m leaning with the internet because they did shut it down and we have had some “slow down” from time to time since. But I’ll check on the power supply as well.
