Can someone tell me the expected data usage for my RS4D? I am trying to establish a remote station and have a Netgear Nighthawk router/modem running on an AT&T data account. It seems to me that the data consumption rate is quite high, but honestly don’t know what to expect. For example, over a typical two-hour period the usage rate is 43830.0 KB. It is a dedicated router so the only usage is from my shake. Is this high, or what is expected?
Thank you, Karl R811D
Hello Karl,
the totals you have are in line with our general estimate of the max data transfer rate of a Raspberry Shake 4D.
The maximum value is around 468 MB per day, so around an average of 19.5 MB/hour, while you stand just slightly above this value for those two hours. It depends on the enabled features, for example, if you are only forwarding data, or also accessing it via other clients (like SWARM).
This is the relative page on our manual, with the step-by-step calculations to reach the daily/monthly average/maximum data rate: https://manual.raspberryshake.org/commonlyAskedQuestions.html#what-is-the-data-transfer-rate-of-the-raspberry-shake
If you need any further assistance, please feel free to write.
Looking forward to the data from your remote installation!
