Baltimore (Maryland) Bridge

At approximately 1:28 EDST today (26 March), a huge container ship struck one of the two support legs for the 1.6 mile long Francis Scott Key bridge at Baltimore Harbor causing the entire bridge to fall into the water.

There is a boom and shake unit in Baltimore that captured the action.

As the impact was horizontal, the N and E detectors got a good signal (cultural noise is quiet in those directions). People in the area say it was quite loud - and it was - as you can see in the HDF trace.
