Here is a recent article from Seismological Research Letters (SRL) that describes technically how recordings of seismic ground motion originate and then discuss the chain of events that are required to obtain digital data. Explains what a count is! Explains how to recover units of ground motion such as acceleration, velocity, or displacement. This is how your Shake and Shake community works!!
Thanks, but it costs $35 to read it.
Shame it is behind a paywall, inaccessible to most rshakers !
Please send me a direct message if you would like to read this article but do not have access.
Oops, sorry about that! I’m a member of SSA and didn’t realize that I was auto logged on and got to see the article for “free”. Definitely work with Ian to read, or contact me @ jefflawton@cox.net.
