3.8 Magnitude felt across Melbourne tonight

First earthquake I’ve felt since the 2021 magnitude 6 in Mansfield, Victoria!
Bed was shaking and windows were violently rattling with a audible rumble.
No damage thankfully and that seems to be the same around the state according to this VicSES advice message:
Impacts in your area:

The earthquake has resulted in little to no damage.

Not far away according to the map! Nice infrasound capture as well.

How’d you produce that report, Matt? Is it your code or has raspishake got a feature/program/code that I’m missing?

I’m using the rsudp software provided by the shake team as an event dectection device on a raspberry pi, that’s just the image it saved once the alarm function got triggered.

Here is more information about the rsudp software 1. About rsudp — rsudp documentation

I read that it was well felt in the area, thankful for the no damage!

Great view via RSUDP Matt, thank you for sharing it!

I put the HDF channel into EQ Sound and it sounds kind of like a distant plastic ball dropping in a hallway

That’s cool, Matt. The second bounce at 160s is the aftershock.
