Thank you so much for the detailed problem description, and also for the similarly detailed step-by-step instructions on how to fix it.
We are aware of the issue that appears in some of our Shakes and we are working to provide a stabler solution in the near future that will address this bug. In this way, our users will be able to use the front-end rs.local/ for all their configuration needs, without the necessity to go and manually edit files via command line.
