I’ve got a USB GPS antenna (VK-162).
It was previously used in a Pi project, is this likely to be compatible?
There’s no harm in trying when the rest of the kit gets here, I’m just wondering in advance before the headache of it not working!

It is possible, yes, and a test is always worth the time. Usually, installing a GPS would be plug-and-play, but in the case of third-party USB GPS receivers (like yours), those may or may not be recognized by the system. A good first step is to see whether the GPS is detected by the OS and provides data, as outlined here.
If the GPS is recognized, you may still need to do some research/adjustments depending on the specific model and chipset.
For us, it’s difficult to officially support or provide technical assistance for third-party GPS modules (not sold through our shop). The main reason is simply related to the sheer variety of GPS chips, firmware, and USB/serial implementations on the market. While many can work, they often require model-specific tweaks, and we can’t reliably test or maintain support for all of them.
