I have purchased a RS3D and would like to use my current USB A GPS (from another RPI5Pro). It would seem that this should be a workable solution. Would I need to install software for it? Thank You.
Hello Mayadog, and welcome to the community!
Technically, all software that’s required to run the GPS is already pre-installed in the Shake OS. However, if the GPS module is not one of ours, there could be some tweaks required to make it work.
This is because there are so many different GPS makers/models available on the market, and, while we have tested quite a few, in the end, we recommend our GPS module because we know it works best with our combination of software and hardware.
You can try to see if your GPS module is recognized (https://manual.raspberryshake.org/ntp.html#case3), but it is likely that you will have to research around a bit and come up with a compatible solution if you want to use it.
